Church Mission in Cabanas, Honduras!
The town of Cabañas Honduras is a farm town that primarily functions around it's coffee plantations. There is currently a church plant that is growing exponentially. Congragents have walked for an hour to find there is no place for them to get in out of the rain. These folks are gathering in a house of one of the parishioners. There is only one bathroom for all of them.
Our church recently funded a VBS providing them with materials, food and toys. This was held during coffee harvest, one of the plantation owners allowed the harvesters 2 hours per day for 5 days. There were 95 adults and children in attendance at the plantation while there were 115 children who attended in town.
The theme of the VBS was "Walking with Jesus". There were games, singing, verse memorization and gifts. Children were given stars for verse memorization. Eight souls made a profession of faith.
Part of who we are as a Global Methodist Church is to plant new churches. This church plant is in the process of joining the Global Methodist organization. We at Community Church in Casselberry are looking to provide this congregation with a property and building. Montlhy updates with be sent.
